Yam Ahavato: Widows and Holocaust Survivors

Distribution Center
We distributed food and clothing to approximately 500 families. We also improved our facilities by installing a large clothing cabinet in our second room. This enables us to store children’s clothing and diapers in an orderly manner. This quarter we provided over 50 children and youth with new sports shoes for school and after school activities as well as school backpacks filled with school supplies.

 Soup Kitchen
We served hot meals once each month during the 2nd quarter. The attendance was great with over 40 people attending. Our hot meal ministry has become a real source of joy and friendship. We have a man who comes and plays the electric piano and treats the people with lively folk, popular and Jewish music. Lively Israeli type dancing brings smiles to the people’s faces. I have been sharing relevant messages that include Jewish-Israeli cultural and historical information. There are great bonding of relationships. The abstract faces become precious souls on our hearts as we learn the personal stories of many immigrants from Russia and the former Soviet Union.
