Israeli Single Mothers

“In the past couple of months, there have been several events that have been both life-changing and exciting for the single mothers of the various congregations in Beer Sheva.

1.) Orna’s Seminar-

Orna [] works with single mothers throughout the country and does seminars for helping single mothers both spiritually and physically. Marianna, who is the manager of the “Grace in the Desert” single mothers outreach, organized this seminar. Thanks to your donations this seminar brought all the single mothers together and was life-changing to many of them. It gave them spiritual tools to be able to be a single mother and follower of Yeshua.

2.) Follow-up single mothers’ seminar-

Last week Marianna and Ayelet organized a follow-up seminar where Ayelet spoke about giving by teaching about the widow that Elijah visited. God was looking to bless the widow more than he blessed Elijah.

A couple of days after attending this seminar, a single mother (one who also attends our house congregation.)

Kilowatt hours electric meter miracle

She has a pre-paid electricity card that she uses for her house, and realized that the card had only two sheckels left– hardly enough electricity to cook a full meal for a congregation full of people. She began to cook it anyway, unsure if she would have enough electricity to last her over the weekend. After cooking, she looked at the amount of electricity left and it was at one sheckel! She cooked the whole day and miraculously it only used 1 sheckel! . The electricity miraculously multiplied to sixteen sheckels by the beginning of the week! This was a true lesson of God’s faithfulness to her when she gives.

3.) Marianna has been faithfully meeting with the single mothers and the National Insurance Institute ( Israel’s Social Security Welfare department). The bureaucracy is hard there, but because of Marianna’s help, the believing single mother’s are getting the help and the rights that they need!

-School Supplies

Most of the single mothers barely survive and have difficulty in buying food (for which Grace in the Desert has an adoption program). This also means that nothing is left to buy school supplies for children. We want to supply every child with a backpack full of school supplies. If you believe you are to give towards this cause, please contact us.

-Adopt-a-Mother

There are a few new single mothers that are have urgent needs. We are looking for people to adopt them for $100 a month in the “adopt-a-mother” program. If you feel led to adopt a single mother for a period of six-months to a year with $100 in grocery vouchers, please contact Israel Benevolence Fund through email and mention you want to give towards one of Orna’s projects for Israeli single mothers.
