Orna speaking at Congregation Beth Messiah in Houston

“Among the Messianic believers in the Land, Jerusalem is considered to be another “country” spiritually speaking. Everything about it is more intense. When Hebrew speakers (including non-believers) talk
about moving from one place in the land to the other, we use verbssuch as traveling, going, driving, coming etc.

But when it has to do with Jerusalem, the verbs we use are completely different. We either ascend to Jerusalem (o-le) or descend when we leave it (yo-red). Why? Because Jerusalem is the peak and center of everything. This is how I feel about our next workshop, which will be held in Jerusalem in December 2008. This past Saturday we held the opening seminar. This was the first time I brought the teaching of the Tabernacle to Jerusalem. It was open for men and women alike, and it was powerful…

Up until now, most of the ministry we did as a team was based on our personal experience and walk with the Lord. We gave out of what we were given. But when I tie together everything God was talking to me about during my time in the US, I think we are about to enter a new phase – and this time minister out of what He shows us, even if we did not experience it before.”

Food and supplies for widows, orphans, and Holocaust survivors in Israel

Food and supplies for widows, orphans, and Holocaust survivors in Israel

November 30, 2008

Shalom Mighty Defenders,

Here’s a statement that you may not have considered pertaining directly to you.

Your gifts to Israel Benevolence Fund not only supply widows, orphans, and Holocaust survivors with physical needs, but it is giving these Jewish people an awesome awareness the Messiah cares about their spiritual needs as well – Romans 15:25.

As I sit at my desk day after day reading newsletters requesting year-end gifts to very worthy ministries, I know that in good conscience I, too, must let you know IBF needs your consideration at this time. The widows, orphans, and Holocaust survivors needs continue daily. IBF sends funds to specific Messianic ministries that are reaching the lost and needy in the land of Israel. I’m sure many of us think of Israel as the land flowing with milk and honey as did Moses in Exodus 3:8, but for so many of our Jewish brothers and sisters, their needs are so great they cannot see the goodness of the Messiah. Let it not be said that IBF has not kept our hearts open to Israel’s children who cry in the night from hunger, and the Holocaust survivors and widows who sit in silence and despair. Their only hope may be your gift will arrive in time.

Many of you may be considering where you should send your tax deductible gifts at this time. IBF’s daily prayer is that godly people like you will allow us to help you reach your hands out and touch the lives of Israel’s orphans, widows and Holocaust survivors.

Did you know 11.7 % of Israel’s population lives below the poverty line? There are a multitude of needy people and perhaps we can’t rescue all of them, but with your help IBF will quiet many of the hunger cries and help return hope to many in despair.

Hanukkah is a time of giving gifts;  please add Israel Benevolence Fund to your gift list. Those we help need your financial support.

Baruch ha-ba b’shem Adonai , Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! (Matt.23:39). That’s you joining hands with IBF.
